Representative Pathways

Currently in Brisbane there are two associations that administer our sport under Hockey Queensland. 
The girls/women have Brisbane Women's Hockey Association (BWHA) and the boys/men have Brisbane Hockey Association (BHA). While they are undergoing some changes to merge in the future, it is important to understand that the two Associations do operate their seasons differently and the Representative process is run in both BWHA and BHA independently of each other.  

We encourage our players to become involved in Brisbane Representative hockey as it has numerous benefits. There are a number of teams available in each age group where players can be selected. If players are not successful in being selected for a Brisbane team, they are eligible to play for other QLD districts who may need additional players. We have quite a few of our members who have had this opportunity and have come away with new friendships and great memories. 

Representative Officials

While our players are invited to nominate there are also many opportunities to be an official in this representative space. These positions also require nominations, a Blue Card and other necessities which are all outlines on the links for both BWHA and BHA Representative pages.
